Barnet continued their unbeaten start to the National League season after a 1-1 draw at Sutton United last night.

The Bees opened up with a 1-0 victory over Yeovil on Saturday and followed this up with a point at Sutton in their midweek game.

Barnet were awarded a penalty after 38 minutes when David Tutonda was fouled in the area. Simeon Akinola stepped up and converted the spot-kick for his second goal of the season.

The visitors spurned a big opportunity to extend their lead after the break when Dan Sparkes hit the bar, after being put through on goal by Che Alexander.

Sutton almost equalised but Jack Taylor managed to clear a header off the line.

Akinola had the chance to add another goal for the Bees but he blasted his effort wide of the target.

Sutton punished them as they equalised in the 57th minute through Harry Beautyman's deft finish.

The home side finished the match strongly and goalkeeper Scott Loach needed to save a fierce shot from Beautyman to secure the draw for Barnet.

The Bees travel to one of the promotion favourites, a Notts County side which suffered relegation last season, on Saturday in the league.
