The artwork from hundreds of primary school children was proudly displayed in Borehamwood town centre over the last week.

The annual School Arts Show was held at 96 Shenley Road - and visitors enjoyed looking at a range of colourful paintings, portraits, and pieces of art.

It was organised by Rotary Club of Elstree & Borehamwood, and pupils from St Nicholas CoE School, Woodlands Primary School, Shenley Primary School, Cowley Hill School, Parkside Community Primary School, Kenilworth Primary School, Meryfield Primary School, and St Teresa’s Catholic Primary School spent months preparing for the exhibition.

Mayor of Hertsmere Cllr Alan Plancey opened the exhibition and he was joined by rotarians, councillors, teachers, school governor, museum volunteers, and members of the public.

President of the rotary club, Cllr Cynthia Barker, said: "Guests told me the standard of the art exhibits is getting higher and higher every year. Well done to all primary school children who worked hard and will be pleased to see their amazing work on display.

"It takes a big community to run this exhibition. Our thanks to Hertsmere Borough Council, councillors Farida Turner, Alan Plancey, Morris Bright, Harvey Cohen, Meenal Sachdev, Susan Brown, Glenn Briski; Hertfordshire County Council, county councillor Caroline Clapper, volunteers, and Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council."
