Angela Peart escaped a violent relationship, went on to recover from throat cancer, built a career out of inspiring women in a man's world - and now, she is a published author.

The businesswoman from St Albans has now shared her story in her new book entitled 'When She Rises', which includes the stories of eleven other women.

Ms Peart explained why she chose to write about her experiences: “I wanted to share my story to not only raise money for a charity that I feel passionate about, ‘One Woman at a Time’, but also to show other women that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and there are lots of women out there who will support you.”

The book has become an Amazon bestseller just hours after its release.

Other stories told include a survivor of a terrorist attack, a woman who had experienced domestic abuse, a woman who lived with several disorders and a woman who dealt with physical and emotional abuse.

All proceeds are being donated to One Woman at a Time, a charity that improves the lives of women and girls severely disadvantaged by social or economic circumstances in parts of Kenya, India and the UK.

The book, supported by ITV’s Real Housewives of Cheshire, Leanne Brown, was published by Authors & Co, a team that aims to share empowering stories of women.
