A former nursing home and haulage yard is to be redeveloped into a mixture of houses and flats.

Approval had already been given back in 2015 for the redevelopment of Birchville Court in Heathbourne Road, Bushey Heath.

Back then, the scheme consisted of 41 dwellings including five houses and 36 flats.

At a planning meeting at Hertsmere Borough Council last week, councillors unanimously passed an application to turn the site into 14 houses and 27 flats.

In total, 98 parking spaces have been provided alongside 66 cycling spaces.

As part of the approval, the committee agreed a section 106 legal agreement to secure affordable housing – 11 units for affordable rent and four units as shared ownership (within the 41 homes).
