Two authors were on hand to reopen a charity shop following a refurbishment.

Lorraine Reed and Jason Cook officially re-opened Peace Hospice Care’s Borehamwood charity shop in Borehamwood on Thursday and as customers streamed through the doors, the shop took £500 in just the first hour.

Borehamwood Times:

The shop was closed so that essential maintenance work could be carried out. During that time, the store was also updated and decorated with a new look and feel to create a lighter, brighter and more welcoming environment.

Sarah O’Halloran, director of income generation at Peace Hospice Care, said: “It’s great to see our Borehamwood shop open again and to welcome our supporters back through the doors. Our thanks to Lorraine Reed and Jason Cook for cutting the ribbon. Thanks too to all our supporters who donate to, and buy from, our shops – their support makes a huge difference and enables us to raise vital funds we need for our services.”

Borehamwood Times:
