A library has reopened after a six-month refurbishment.
St Albans Library fully opened yesterday offering a range of new and improved services and facilities – including a green screen.
As part of the facelift, the library now has an upgraded children’s area, new computers, a bookable meeting room, and ‘CreatorSpace’ offering access to virtual reality headsets, 3D printing and digital sewing machines.
A series of events promoting the library are planned over the coming months.
Cabinet member for libraries Cllr Terry Douris said: “The newly refurbished library looks fantastic, and users will really benefit from the changes and improvements we’ve made.
“We have worked hard with architectural consultants to deliver the modernisation and we are really proud of the results.”
“We know how important libraries are to our residents which is why we are always striving to develop new services that embrace our consumer’s needs and any new technology.”
