A new online channel showcasing the very best of Hertsmere has launched.

Hertsmere TV will be available on the Internet and will involve a series of videos made up of people across the borough.

Completely volunteer-run, it will provide an opportunity to meet the unsung heroes of Hertsmere with in depth interviews and chats.

It will cover a host of topics including news, entertainment, politics, the community, education, current affairs, culture, lifestyle, health, and sport.

Borehamwood Times:

It will start off with a small number of videos a month but there is hope the project will continue to grow.

Students from Elstree University Technical College, members of Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council, the mayor of Elstree & Borehamwood, Cllr Victor Eni and his wife Martine, and Bidemi Alani, co-director of Hertsmere TV, are among those involved in the new project.

A launch event was held last Wednesday at Fairway Hall where a promotional video was played followed by food and drink.

The slogan for the new project is “in the community, for the community” and will be funded entirely by volunteers.

Town councillor Sandra Parnell described the venture as “exciting” and is urging people to get involved.
