Drivers face nearly two months of delays with two separate roadwork schemes taking place just yards from each other.

Already this week, people living in Leavesden, Abbots Langley, and north Watford have endured painful rush hour journeys in both the morning and evening.

There are temporary three-way traffic lights in Courtlands Drive at the junction of Gammons Lane, which have been in place since January 23 and will run until March 25.

Temporary lights in Courtlands Drive

The footway repair work will continue along Courtlands Drive towards Hempstead Road so the lights will be moved in stages further down the road.

Meanwhile, junction improvement work near the Warner Bros studios has banned two turns for nearly two months.

Motorists can no longer turn right from Ashfields towards High Road and the right turn has also been taken away for drivers coming out of Ashfields wanting to go into Aerodrome Way.

Watford Observer:

Looking towards Aerodrome Way

A contraflow system is in place along Aerodrome Way and the traffic lights have been taken away. Drivers are diverted onto the A41 slip road, past the studios, to the A405 roundabout.

Diversion signs are in place for drivers in both directions.

A date of March 31 has been given for completion.

Traffic light refurbishments on the A41 in Hunton Bridge have overrun by a week due to the recent snowy weather. Turns across the junction into Langleybury Lane and Bridge Road have been banned for the past few weeks.

Work on the A41

It has caused heavy congestion on the A41 between the M25 at j20 and the M25 at j19.

The restrictions at the junction are expected to be lifted by the end of this week.
