A ‘lifeline’ bus service won’t be going anywhere after the county council pledged to keep supporting it.
It is believed bus company Uno are not planning on renewing its contract to run the 657 bus which runs between Borehamwood and Harpenden.
The bus is an important service, particularly for people living in Shenley, especially on the Borehamwood side of the village such as the Harris Lane area, with the alternative 602 service only going via the pond before circling away from Shenley.
The 602 does not go to Borehamwood, so the 657 service for people wanting to travel to the town.
Hertfordshire County Council says the contract for the 657 service is up for renewal in April 2019. The service will be reviewed but will continue to be supported by the county council, so it looks like the route will be staying.
