An industrial estate was transformed into a ‘DJ extravaganza’ music event to raise cash for a food bank.

A total of £7808 was raised for Eat or Heat at a similar event last year and organisers of the fundraiser lined up a number of acts to entertain the crowds at this year’s event.

Ravenswood Estate in Shernhall Street in Walthamstow played host to Stella Creasy playing Wheatus' Teenage Dirtbag, Ragga Twins MCing, Eastern Front and Soundsystem among others on January 19.

The four venues at the site were Wild Card Brewery, Pillars Brewery, Mother’s Ruin Gin Palace and The Real Al Company and Trap Taproom hosting hundreds of visitors.

Proceeds from the event were donated to the food bank based in Walthamstow’s Jewel Road.

Founder of Pillars Brewery Omar Razaq said: "We were so pleased to be part of another amazing Ravenswood for Eat or Heat festival. As always there was a strong turnout - despite the cold! It's great to be part of such a strong community that came out in force to support an excellent cause."

The event was supported by Stow Brothers, Sodo Pizza, Perky Blenders, LVE Charitable Foundation, and Waltham Forest Council and Borough of Culture.

One of the founders Stow Brothers Kenny Goad said: "We're really proud to support the fantastic Ravenswood Eat or Heat festival for the 3rd year running, what an inspiring event for January and local charity Eat or Heat.

"Particularly enjoyed Joe Goddard's and Pete Fowler's varied set, was great to have a dance and enjoy ourselves so much, looking forward to the next one."

The day was organised by record label Byrd Out, music event venue These Days and Daniel Carney.
