A housing development could be built on a Green Belt campsite.

Plans to construct 19 homes on the Mossford Green Nursery in Abridge Road, Theydon Bois have been submitted to Epping Forest District Council.

The application details plans to demolish existing buildings and remove an open storage site at the rural site, which doubles up as a campsite.

If approved the proposals would see eight three-bedroom houses and eleven four-bedroom homes built on the site.

Archaeological development control officer for Essex County Council, Maria Medlycott has also appealed against the building plans, arguing the land is an historic environment.

Comments are open until 6 February for anyone within the area wanting to appeal or suggest alternative plans.
