Three drivers were caught travelling more than 30mph the speed limit while several motorists were stopped for speeding down a hill as police stepped up their #Fatal4 campaign.
Officers were out to catch dangerous drivers on Friday and Saturday night, setting up traps in Watford and Shenley.
The BCH Road Policing Unit stationed themselves at the bottom of Black Lion Hill, in Shenley, on Friday evening, and caught four people speeding at more than 40mph in the 30mph zone, and the following evening, at least three more people were stopped, including one driver who was caught at 49mph.

With a bus stop, mini-roundabout, and uncontrolled pedestrian crossing area, one officer pleaded with people coming down the hill to “control their speed and slow down”.
In past weeks, a cardboard cut-out of a police officer with a speed gun has been positioned halfway down the hill to try and slow down vehicles.
On the A41 North Western Avenue in Watford, between the Dome roundabout and the A405, three drivers were caught travelling at more than 70mph in a 40mph zone, including a Mercedes which was also seized for having no insurance.
72 in a 40 is utterly ridiculous......and with no insurance!!! One Court appearance coming right up. 412822 410562 Watford #fatal4 pic.twitter.com/7lvHZCwkCQ

Officers stopped the vehicles outside North Watford Cemetery in what turned out to be a productive Friday night for the unit.
A BMW driver even admitted to knowing the limit was 40mph when he was clocked doing 71mph.

Today, the unit announced it will dedicate all available controls, who are not responding to emergencies, to tackling speeding drivers over the next two weeks.
The #Fatal4 campaign aims to educate drivers on the four biggest dangers while driving – speeding, using a mobile phone, drink or drug driving, and not wearing seatbelts.
