Following an incident in which cinemagoers were evacuated with "no staff" to explain "what's going on" - one customer has come forward claiming he was left inside the building fearing for his safety.
He took to social media asking Cineworld Cinemas to explain why his “life and safety is a joke.”
He said: “To my surprise upon leaving Cineworld Watford to find the place had apparently been evacuated while we were watching the film... apart from our screen!
"It’s scary to feel how close to death I was at the hands of the staff there. Is my life and safety a joke?”
Responding to the claims yesterday, Cineworld Cinemas said: “We're awfully sorry to hear if this was the case.
“We will certainly be looking into the issue with the cinema to address these training issues internally. Could you let us know which screen you were located in?”
One person described the scene at Cineworld Watford as "absolute chaos" after customers left the premises due to an alarm sounding.
One woman tweeted: "What is going on in Watford? Will we be allowed back in. Staff are all inside. Nobody giving any information."
Another person said: "Absolute chaos at Watford Cineworld! Not allowed in to see the film for some reason and zero information from staff. What a joke!"

Customers were seen huddled outside the venue eagerly awaiting news while staff were "all inside".
Some took to social media to voice their disappointment, demanding Cineworld Cinemas explain why they had been evacuated.
In response to claims the situation had been handled in the "most appalling manner", Cineworld Cinemas said: "An alarm was activated in the building resulting in the cinema being evacuated. This turned out to be a false alarm and we're sorry for the inconvenience."
Adding: "We are looking into the issue with the cinema to address these training issues internally."
Cineworld Cinemas also published a phone number on social media for customers to call.
