Drivers are being urged to be vigilant after screws were found lying on at least two separate roads this month.
A man found several screws in Tempsford Avenue in Borehamwood just before Christmas, but more alarmingly, he said he picked up around 30 screws which had been spread about across Brook Road near the junction of Grove Road, just a week earlier.
A resident posted on Facebook that she had driven over screws in Brook Road, causing damage to her tyres, costing them £40 to repair.
The man believes someone is “purposely” going out of their way to harm vehicles and has described the person as an “idiot”.
So much so, that he took a picture of all the screws he found in Tempsford Avenue
He has warned motorists to be aware to ensure they don’t drive over them and burst their tyres, potentially causing a serious incident.
