A life-long charity member has won an annual award at a Christmas party.
Linda Tanner, from Borehamwood, won the Roy Pursey award, in recognition of her commitment to Hertsmere Mencap.
Ms Tanner is responsible for welcoming members and collecting money at the Jubilee club, the charity’s social club.
This year, the dedicated volunteer helped raise £150 with a Christmas raffle.
Chairman of Hertsmere Mencap, Paul Moser, said: "Even when Linda is not feeling 100%, she never has a day off and is extremely conscientious."
Mayor of Elstree & Borehamwood, of which Hertsmere Mencap is his chosen charity, added: “It gave me great pride to present the award to Linda who despite day to day challenges takes her responsibilities very seriously and is a credit to the charity.”
