A cordon remains in place in a car park after a failed bid to raid a cash machine.
Police remain outside Tesco Express in Shenley following the attack on the ATM with a fork lift truck at around 1am this morning.
Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed that no money was taken.
Tesco Express remains shut for health and safety reasons with a canopy hanging precariously and rubble strewn across the ground. It is not expected to open again today.
Other stores in the parade of shops are open.
The forklift has been taken away by police and people can now see the aftermath of the ram-raid.
Bricks have been ripped from the wall and the roof has caved in.
A wider cordon was in place earlier this morning which has now been reduced.
Forensic officers were at the scene during the morning as police investigate the attempted burglary.

It is not the first time the ATM has been targeted.
There were no reports of any injuries.
