A tattooist of 22 years was recognised for her artwork at a body art show.
Amanda Sissons from the Renaissance Tattoo Studio in Rickmansworth scooped the “Best of Day” award at a Dreamland tattoo convention in Margate on Sunday.
Ms Sissions, aged 44 from Chorleywood, told the Watford Observer, the convention was the “first of its kind” in the UK.
She added: “It was great to win because I have been off for a while having babies. It’s not my first time, this is my seventh award for tattooing. But this is the first prize I’ve won in a decade.”
The mother of four said contestants were judged by a panel on tattoos they performed while at the convention, adding: “I did one on Saturday in a different category and another on Sunday.
“Both were designed for the show with a circus feel in keeping with the Dreamland theme.”
When asked what she enjoys most about her job, Ms Sissons said: “I get to be creative and expressive and meet lovely people.
“I think it’s a big honour when someone is willing to wear your artwork on their body for the rest of their life.
“It’s a massive compliment and I don’t take it lightly.”
