A Spice Girls exhibition will be opening in Watford just days after the group declared their plans to reunite.

The show comes soon after the surprise announcement by the girl group - which contains Watford’s own Geri Halliwell - to tour the UK in June 2019.

intu Watford will host the exhibition, which will feature hundreds of stage costumes from the group’s previous tours, as well as music and memorabilia.

Roger Binks, intu’s customer experience director, said: “We’re delighted that the iconic music exhibition is arriving at our popular retail and leisure destination ahead of the band’s reunion tour.

“intu centres continue to attract global brands as they’re able to reach millions of customers, whilst our shoppers can shop, eat and be entertained, all under one roof – it’s the perfect day out experience.”

The exhibition, which ran in London throughout the Summer, will run in Watford from November 15 until 31 December 31.

The Spice Girls announced their reunion tour - without Victoria Beckham - on November 5.

Geri Horner - known at first as Ginger Spice and by her maiden name of Halliwell - was born at Watford General Hospital, grew up in North Watford and went to Watford Grammar School for Girls. She married Formula 1 boss Christian Horner in 2015.
