It has been announced that another Elstree Originals film will be screened later this month.

Scars of Dracula will be followed by a live on-stage question and answer session with actress Jenny Hanley, led by Elstree Studios’ Chairman Morris Bright MBE. The event takes place on October 30 at Weston Auditorium.

Scars of Dracula (1970), stars Christopher Lee as Count Dracula, along with Dennis Waterman, Jenny Hanley, Patrick Troughton, and Michael Gwynn. Following the disappearance of young Paul Carlson, brother Simon and his girlfriend, trace his whereabouts to a small village, heading unknowingly to Dracula’s mountain top castle.

For eight years, the University of Hertfordshire has worked on ‘The Elstree Project’ to celebrate the output of Elstree and Borehamwood, by recording almost 70 oral history interviews with cast and crew members.

To further recognise some of the most iconic productions made in the local area, UHArts, in collaboration with Howard Berry, School of Creative Arts, aims to bring an exciting programme of screenings with special interviews and talks from members of the cast and production teams. We are also delighted to be working in collaboration with Elstree Studios and StudioCanal on this screening.

Elstree Originals is part of UHArts season of events for Autumn/Winter 2018. Throughout the year, UHArts will continue its cutting-edge Visual Arts, Film and Live Arts programme which includes Hayward Gallery Touring, dHPO concerts, contemporary circus shows and more.
