Changes to bus routes could be bought in.

Transport for London (TfL) has proposed to extend or reroute some services to link up Barnet Town Centre to Mill Hill and Edgware while a service from Borehamwood will be affected.

The 384

The 384 currently runs between Quinta Drive to Cockfosters Station.

The extension would create a new bus route between Edgware and Cockfosters via Mill Hill, High Barnet and New Barnet.

TfL says this would provide a new link to Barnet Hospital and the Jewish Community Secondary School in Chipping Barnet from Mill Hill and Edgware.

A second proposal for the 384 involves rerouting the bus so it is more direct.

The new proposed 384 route would run via Salisbury Road, Station Road, Victoria Road, Park Road and Edgeworth Road.

This means the bus would no longer directly serve Strafford Road, Gloucester Road, Lyonsdown Road, Longmore Road, York Road, East Barnet Road, Brookhill Road, Crescent Road, Castlewood Road and Northfield Road.

The 292

TfL says the frequency of the 292 which runs between Borehamwood and Colindale could be reduced from every 15 minutes to every 20 minutes per hour during Mondays and Saturdays.

The 606

The 606 bus has two trips which could be cancelled – one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Every second-morning trip would be cancelled under this proposal.

On Monday to Thursday afternoons, the last trip would be cancelled.

On Friday afternoons, the first trip running between Barnet Church and Queensbury would be cancelled.

TfL says it will keep this service under close review if any school expansions take place over the coming years.

Northbound bus stop at High Barnet Station

TfL has also proposed to move the northbound bus stop on Barnet Hill, so it is closer to the southern ramp entrance of High Barnet station.
