A man has been charged with causing a public nuisance following the closure of the M25 on Tuesday.
Dayle Smith, of Bingham Close, Hemel Hempstead, was arrested on Tuesday after a police-stand off on the bridge near London Colney.
The 30-year-old is due to appear at Hatfield Remand Court today.
Police were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a man on a bridge over the M25, near Junction 21a and Junction 22 clockwise, and Junction 21 and 23 anti-clockwise.
They spent five hours trying to bring the man to safety.
He was medically assessed by health professionals before being returned to custody and charged by officers.
Officers on motorbikes filtered through traffic checking on stuck motorists.
