1. Exhibition: cARTel

Artist Tomislav Török works from a studio in the Winsor and Newton building in Whitefriars Avenue. 

He moved in last summer and designed and allocated part of the studio wall, declaring it his gallery - cARTel gallery. 

As part of his art studio practice he periodically curates, organises, mounts and presents single work exhibitions by made by artists whose work he finds “authentic and intriguing”.

This week the gallery opened for the very first time and will remain open until August 14, On display is a painting by Neno Arslana, who lives and works in Germany.

His own work and that of artists occupying Whitefriars Studios is scheduled for open studio days on September 21 between 6pm and 9pm.

2. After the Storm

It is 1918 - Ernest Madu, a returnee soldier returns from the Western Front with hopes and expectations, but his hopes are dashed and his resettlement plans becomes dishevelled.

Beset with numerous problems: unemployment, no housing, racism and riots, Madu takes matters into his own hands.

After the Storm is brought to you by Learning through the Arts, exploring the racial tensions and riots that arose between demobilised British and African soldiers returning to the UK and looking for employment after WW1.

3. 100 per cent Open Mic Night

This event is a unique programme for young people aged 14 to 25 to gain professional producing, event management and performing skills.  100% Producers has been hosting these events for many years and have opened the door to many Harrow-based young artists in developing professional careers in the music industry.
