A young NHS worker who has spent seven years volunteering her time to help young people has been nominated for a national award.
Alice Rath, 21, from Elstree, is in line to receive the Patient and Public Involvement Award 2018.
For seven years, Alice has served as a volunteer at a number of NHS trusts, including West Herts.
She currently sits on the Great Ormond Street Hospital's board of governors as a young patients' representative.
Her work has not gone unnoticed and the MP for Hertsmere, Oliver Dowden, is rooting for her ahead of the awards.
Mr Dowden said: "I was delighted to be able to nominate Alice for the NHS Patient and Public Involvement Award. Since the age of 14 she has been dedicated in her work to improve services and care, especially for young people.
"She would be a worthy winner and I hope the judges consider her nomination closely."
The awards coincide with the NHS's 70th anniversary.
