A man will be taking on his first ever marathon this month.
Carl Graham, who lives, in Aldenham, will be running for the Hertfordshire Community Foundation, who help tackle deprivation across the county.
Mr Graham's neighbour, Henry Holland Hibbert, is a trustee of the charity and he has been inspired to run and support them.
Mr Graham said: "I've tried to run the London marathon for the past few years but never got the opportunity to do so. But now that I can run for the foundation is fantastic. Who wouldn't want to run the most famous marathon in the world? Running is a hobby for me and I can't wait to get going."
The 46-year-old has a fundraising target of £1,500 and so far has raised more than £900.
