Fashion clothing giant New Look is set to close 60 stores across the country, including its store in Borehamwood.
Nearly 1,000 jobs are under threat ahead of the closures as the retail company become the latest victim of the high street.
New Look, which has 906 stores globally, has announced a plan to close nearly 10 per cent of its 593-strong UK store estate, as it pushes ahead with a company voluntary arrangement (CVA).
A CVA enables businesses in debt to pay off debt while trading – in an effort to prevent it from closing entirely.
New Look is seeking creditor approval on the proposal, which is due on 21st March 2018.
New Look in Borehamwood shopping park has been named as one of 60 stores facing threat of closure.
The company said the closures would lead to redundancies, although it would look to redeploy staff elsewhere within the business if possible.
Other stores facing closure include Oxford Circus in London.
Cheshunt is the only other store in Hertfordshire that has been identified as possibly closing.
