Delays have now eased on the A1 southbound due to an earlier broken down bus near Apex Corner.
Traffic had been backed up all morning and at one stage it was queuing from the Galley Lane junction, north of Borehamwood.
All lanes have now been re-opened.
The bus was broken down on the Watford Way just before Mill Hill circus.
The slip road closure at Rowley Lane did not help matters. Workers say they are still on course to complete repairs by March 5.

Local routes were also affected. In Borehamwood, traffic is heavy on the A411 heading into Stirling Corner and on Barnet Road towards the same roundabout. Hendon Wood Lane is also busy.
