Update: The road has re-opened
A third water main has burst but the road closure currently in place is only planned for today.
Green Street in Shenley is shut between London Road and Stapleton Road as Affinity Water carry out repairs.
It is an important road that connects Shenley and Borehamwood, and has been closed since this morning.
Drivers are advised to use Rowley Lane as a diversion route.
A spokeswoman for Affinity Water said: "We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by a burst main on Green Street, Shenley.
"Our technicians are currently working on site to repair the main and we are planning to open the road later today.
"We would like to thank our customers for their patience whilst these repairs are carried out.”
