Junior Morias has joined Whitehawk, the side who he scored against to seal Boreham Wood’s promotion to the National League in May, on loan for three months but Luke Garrard insists he remains in his plans.

Morias wrote his name into Wood folklore with an extra-time winner at Meadow Park as Wood triumphed 2-1 in the Conference South Play-Off Final to reach the top table of non-league football for the first time in their history.

However, the 20-year-old has found regular playing time limited, making just five starts in the National League this season.

He has joined the Hawks for three months but can be recalled by Wood at 24 hours notice after 28 days.

Speaking to the club’s website, manager Garrard said: “Junior is still in my plans, he is still improving and he is still young.

“He, unfortunately, started the season slightly injured and that hampered his opportunities. At present the reality is that he is simply getting frustrated with his lack of game time.

“I do understand his frustration but I am not in a position to give him the minutes he feels he needs.

“So we have decided to let him go out on loan, get himself fitter and get himself firing. We know he’ll get goals in the division below and I’m sure he’ll improve for the experience of playing under Whitehawk’s experienced manager Steve King. So it’s a win-win situation.”
