POLICE officers donned their aprons and rolled up their sleeves to serve coffee and cakes to raise money for cancer.
The Borehamwood and Elstree Safer Neighbourhood Team raised £332 for Macmillan Cancer at Aberford Community Hall, in Brook Road, last week.
Cllr Pat Strack lent a hand as 60 people dropped in between 11am and 3pm, including residents from New Court Placce, Aston Lodge and Aycliffe Day Centre.
PCSO Chris Messetter said: “It was a good turnout and everyone enjoyed the day. All the guests were very generous with their donations, often giving more money than the cakes and tea were worth.
“We’d like to thank all the local shops that kindly donated cakes for the day.”
