CHILDREN were given the chance to learn about diversity and different cultures as a historian and author visited a childcare centre.
Aisha Adi and Antonella Meli, the owners of Petals Childcare Centre, welcomed a special guest to their Warren Grove centre in Borehamwood last Thursday.
Dr Hakim Adi is a British historian and scholar who specialises in African affairs, writing on Pan-Africanism and the modern political history of African and African diaspora.
Also an author of history books for children, charting the history of African and Caribbean communities from 43AD up to the modern day, Dr Adi visited pre-school children at the centre to show them some of his works.
Ms Meli said: “It was all about diversity and culture and Africa and was just a general chat really.
“He came along and visited us to have a look at the setting itself and speak to the children.
“The kids enjoyed it.”
