A pizza party for young people has been cancelled due to lack of sponsorship and donations.
CookCamp, in partnership with Youth Connexions Hertfordshire, has been forced to cancel its free pizza party after the group was unable to raise enough money to cover its costs.
The event was to be organised in conjunction with the national Food Revolution Day event run by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, which aims to make food fun and get young people cooking from scratch.
Danine Irwin, owner and founder of CookCamp, said: “It’s very disappointing that we’ve had to cancel the party. We ran it last year and it was great, but we had a lot more interest from local companies and business then.
“We are really hoping to find some people willing to donate so we can put the event back on. We are only looking for about £500, as Youth Connexions have offered to pay for the room we were going to use and we’ve also had a donation from Tesco.
“It’s such a shame it’s not able to go ahead.”
