Motorists are being warned to take extra care while driving as more wet weather is forecast for the weekend.
Downpours have led to a number of road closures across the county today.
A spokeswoman for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: “The flooding has had a significant impact across the county and we would like to reassure our communities that officers have been out since the early hours assisting members of the public.
“We are working closely with other emergency services, the County Council, local authorities and the Environment Agency amongst others to respond.”

Flooding caused Elstree & Borehamwood railway station to grind to a halt earlier today, and Radlett Railway Station car park flooded after Radlett Brook bursts its banks.
