Touted as ’a talent of rare pianistic brilliance’, concert pianist Michael Harvey will be performing a piano recital at the Ark Theatre. He will be playing masterpieces by composers such as Beethoven, Chopin and Horowitz.
Having graduated from the Royal College of Music and Chetham’s School of Music, Michael has gone to be an international talent, performing in Canada, Paris and London.
The 37-year-old, who is also a private piano tutor from his home in Shenley, was the top prize-winner for the 1999 International Nikolai Rubinstein Piano Competition in Paris.
Michael’s musical talents don’t fall far from the tree – his late father, Walter Harvey, was the chairman of the Radlett Music Society for five years.
His performances have left audiences in awe; with Atis Bankas from the Niagra International Chamber Music Festival saying: “His expressive playing leaves a deep mark in his audience’s memory“.
