Fans of music megastar Adele may be left waiting for years to see the star herself on stage again after previously admitting she “wasn’t good at” touring.

But if you want to hear the music that made the musician famous, then Katie Markham is the next best thing.

The X Factor finalist was handpicked by Adele herself to appear in the BBC Adele Special presented by Graham Norton, but she never dreamed she would be both singing live with her idol on stage in London and launching a new UK tour with shows dotted up and down Britain - all within a year.

Katie will be bringing her show, Someone Like You - The Adele Songbook, to the Wycombe Swan later this summer.

The immaculate concert production recreates the magic of Adele’s music from her three hit albums, ‘19’, ‘21’ and ‘25’, reminding audiences why they first fell in love with her beautiful music more than ten years ago.

Katie leads a super-talented six piece band through all Adele fans’ favourite songs in the internationally-acclaimed show - from powerhouse performances through to intimate songs and a spellbinding sit-down acoustic session.

Katie said: “There is a real beauty to Adele’s music.

“I think that’s why it appeals to so many people, she lays raw emotion out for all the world to see.”

Featuring the smash hits Chasing Pavements, Make You Feel my Love, Set Fire to the Rain, Someone Like You, Rolling in the Deep, Hello and the multi-million seller Bond theme Skyfall, as well as featuring a selection of songs by some of the legends that inspired Adele, Someone Like You has been described as “the quintessential show for any fan of Adele”.

As well as Adele, Katie - also known as Kt Star - lists her influences as fellow female legends of the music industry Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Barbara Streisand.

And it seems that the star was always destined to perform on stage herself. She started performing at the age of six and soon found herself in theatres across the north of England.

Katie is now considered the number one Adele tribute in the world - and has travelled across the globe performing as the songstress.

Katie was also spotted by Adele at her last Wembley show - where Adele promised to get tickets to one of Katie’s shows.

As well as finding success on theatre stages across the world, Katie has also taken on performances on cruise ships, performing musical theatre and classical shows to audiences.

Katie Markham brings Someone Like You - The Adele Songbook to the Wycombe Swan on Friday, August 14, at 8pm.

The show is a rescheduled performance because of the coronavirus outbreak. If you had tickets for the previous show and can attend the new date, your original tickets will still be valid. Or buy tickets at wycombeswan.co.uk
