LONDON BOROUGH OF HARINGEY
Changes to Council Tax Premium for Long-Term Empty Dwellings & Changes to Council Tax Discounts for Unoccupied and Unfurnished Properties and Vacant Properties requiring or undergoing Major Repair or Structural Alteration from 1 April 2019.
This Notice is published in accordance with Section 11 A(6) and s.11 B(6) of the Local Government Finance Act 1992
1. HARINGEY COUNCIL GIVES NOTICE that on 31 January 2019 it agreed changes to the Premium applied for Long-Term Empty Dwellings. The Council also made changes the Council discounts applied for Unoccupied and Unfurnished Properties and Vacant Properties requiring or undergoing Major Repair or Structural Alteration .The changes set out above will have effect from 1 April 2019.

2. Changes to Council Tax Premium for Long-Term Empty Dwellings

From 1 April 2019, Haringey Council will charge:
A premium of 100% on long-term empty dwellings. This means that the total amount of Council Tax payable for such properties will be 200%.
3. Changes to Council Tax Discounts for Unoccupied and Unfurnished Properties and Vacant Properties requiring or undergoing Major Repair or Structural Alteration

From 1 April 2019, Haringey Council will cease discretionary Council Tax discounts for:
- Unoccupied and substantially unfurnished properties; and

- Vacant properties that either require or are undergoing major repair work to render them habitable; that have undergone such work in the past six months; or that are undergoing structural alteration.

5.
