Hull KR have announced the signing of Salford centre Sean Gleeson on a three-year contract from next season.

The 24-year-old Ireland international, who is a cousin of former Great Britain centre Martin Gleeson, began his career with his home-town club Wigan and had a spell at Wakefield before joining the City Reds for the start of the 2011 season.

Rovers coach Craig Sandercock said: "Sean is a player that I've been watching for a while and will be a terrific addition to our squad next year. He's been very impressive for Salford this season and, at 24 years of age, has the best years of his career in front of him."

Gleeson is Sandercock's second confirmed recruit for 2013 following the capture of North Queensland Cowboys second rower Cory Paterson.
