Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh had not spoken since the Take That star's act, Carolynne Poole, was booted off X Factor
X Factor judges Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh have shaken hands on the live show and put their near week-long feud behind them.
At the start of Saturday night's show, which had a love and heartbreak theme, presenter Dermot O'Leary asked Barlow if he had forgiven Walsh.
He replied: "It is a new day Louis, shake hands," to cheers from the audience.
The pair had not spoken since Barlow's act, Carolynne Poole, was booted off the ITV talent show following a controversial "deadlock" situation on Sunday night which saw the Take That star storm from his seat.
He was angered by Poole's departure, which came as a result of Walsh's indecision, with the public vote saving Rylan Clark instead.
There had been reports that Walsh was ordered to force a deadlock situation by show bosses after producer Richard Holloway was seen whispering in his ear shortly before he failed to choose which of the two acts should be saved, pushing it to the public vote. But Mr Holloway went on to say that executives never interfere in the voting.
Bookies' favourite to win Ella Henderson wowed the crowd and the judges again with her rendition of Minnie Riperton's Lovin' You. After hitting the famous high note perfectly, the 16-year-old was showered with praise by the judges.
Barlow said: "What a risk you took tonight. The risk in that song is that, forget about the rest of the song, everybody is waiting for the high note, the F# descending. I know you've been worried about it all day, you completely nailed it."
Fellow judge, Nicole Scherzinger described Ella as a "timeless goddess".
She said: "The difference between you and so many artists, especially today, is you are timeless and you are classic. No matter what's trendy or what's going on in the industry, your talent, your voice, your beauty is just stand alone, you're a timeless goddess tonight, you should be so proud of yourself."
