Barnet youngster Mauro Vilhete has joined Boreham Wood on a month's loan deal.

The 18-year-old has appeared three times for the Bees this season and has previously spent time out on loan at Hendon.

Vilhete is scheduled to return to Underhill on March 19 and speaking of the move to Wood the young winger told the Barnet website: "It's a great chance to get more games under my belt and I felt it was an opportunity too good to turn down.

"I want to take my chances and prove myself and I already know that the Conference South is a good standard."

He continued: "I already know Sam Cox. He has nothing but positive things to say about the club and its set up.

"It also helps that it's local to me. I also think one of the main factors was the challenge of going there and proving myself.

"It's a chance to get more games. But most importantly I want to build up my match fitness, impress the manager, team mates and fans and then hopefully come back to Barnet FC and show what I can do for The Bees. I'll be back in black & amber."
