Boreham Wood were held to a 0-0 draw in freezing conditions at Meadow Park on Saturday against out-of-form Solihull Moors.

The visitors came into the game after four defeats from their previous six games, but proved stubborn opposition against Luke Garrard's men in Hertfordshire.

Solihull enjoyed the game's early pressure with Harry White, returning to his former club, volleying at Grant Smith early on.

Wood attempted to play football perhaps to a higher quality than the pitch would allow - but from one move, Anthony Jeffrey's cross was glanced over by Morgan Ferrier.

The game flowed end to end with Jack Byrne thwarted for Solihull before the hosts' Angelo Balanta miscued an effort of his own.

New signing Tom Hitchcock was introduced after the break as the Wood reverted to a 4-4-2, and their change in shape nearly bore fruit straight away, but Ferrier's effort was no test for Moors stopper Nathan Baxter.

Balanta and Ferrier saw further chances pass them by as the clock ticked towards full-time.

But it was Hitchcock who would go closest in injury-time, but with a dream debut looming his goalbound shot was blocked as it headed for the bottom corner.

Boreham Wood: Smith, Paine, Ricketts, Nunn, Devera, Woodards (Hitchcock 52), Davis, Ilesanmi, Jeffrey, Balanta, Ferrier.

Not used: Andrade, Shakes, Morgan, Sach.
