Women are being invited to take up rugby for the first time at an event in Radlett this weekend.

Tabard RFC, in Cobden Hill, will host a pitch up and play event on Sunday, as part of an England Rugby project to get 10,000 women playing the game for the first time, after the national side were crowned World Cup champions for just the second time in 2014.

Tabard have just been promoted to the National Challenge South East North Division One, the fourth tier of domestic women’s rugby, and are keen to welcome anyone who may be interested in joining the club.

Keen new players who come along will get the opportunity to take part in all aspects of rugby, from passing to tackling, with no pressure to try anything in particular, or to commit to joining.

The ladies’ training sessions normally take place on Tuesday evenings, and are held at the club.
