Boreham Wood are back at home on Saturday with Macclesfield Town the visitors to Meadow Park in a game the Wood can ill afford to lose if they are to hold onto their National League status.

Wood’s home form is worrying for manager Luke Garrard. Defensively the side is sound but the goals for column remains the big issue.

Garrard, looking to add goals to his squad, dipped into the loan market this week to sign Barnsley’s young striker Harry White on loan for the rest of the season.

White scored three goals in five appearances for strugglers Kidderminster Harriers earlier in the season and put in a man-of-the-match performance against Wood at Meadow Park in a 2-0 win for Kiddy in February.

Centre-back Callum Reynolds, who made his comeback for the reserves in midweek, is also in contention for a return to the squad following a lengthy lay-off.

Macclesfield sit comfortably in mid-table in the National League but have had a torrid time of late.

The Silkmen are winless in their last eight matches, three of those being on the road. Their last away victory came 1-0 victory against Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park on January 2.

That win left John Askey’s side fifth in the National League but they have tumbled since and find themselves 12 points shy of the play-off places.

Macclesfield, though, do boast ten victories on the road this season and have the prolific Kristian Dennis, who has netted 17 times this campaign, to call upon up front.

The 26-year-old forward, who began his professional career at Moss Rose, is on loan from Stockport County.

Prolific form at Curzon Ashton tempted the Hatters to bring him to Edgeley Park. He had previously turned out for Mossley and Woodley Sports.
