Boreham Wood travel to Woking this afternoon, little over a fortnight after losing 2-1 to the Cards in the FA Trophy at Meadow Park.

This tie comes two days after both sides picked up narrow wins on Boxing Day. The Cards visited Aldershot Town and came away with maximum points with the only goal of the game coming from midfielder John Goddard – his 12th of the season.

Woking have a solid record against Wood. The two sides have met nine times in the last decade and the Hertfordshire outfit have failed to win any of those encounters.

This will be the third time the two sides have faced each other this season. A commendable 1-1 draw at Meadow Park back in August came after a four-match winning streak for the Surrey side.

Then, just over a fortnight ago, it was Woking who were again celebrating victory. This time with a narrow 2-1 win the FA Trophy at Meadow Park thanks to Guiseppe Sole’s last free-kick.

Wood’s last visit to Kingfield was in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round last season which resulted in another 2-1 defeat for the Wood.

The player manager Luke Garrard will be keen to shackle is Sole, the scorer of the winner at Meadow Park earlier this month, before his double knocked Wood out the FA Cup last season.

Woking are currently ninth in the National League table, just a point outside the play off places. They have won six of their last seven in all competitions with only Barrow and Macclesfield Town taking points from the Cards.
