Barnet utility man Mauro Vilhete has, as expected, joined Boreham Wood on loan, becoming the fourth member of last season’s title-winning squad to join the Wood.

Vilhete – as reported by the Times Series a fortnight ago – has joined former Bees skipper Charlie MacDonald, defender David Stephens and midfielder Conor Clifford at Meadow Park.

The Portuguese wideman has made 12 appearances for the Bees this season but last featured in defeat to Accrington Stanley on October 10.

He has not been involved in the matchday 18 since and speaking after the 3-1 victory over York City, head coach Martin Allen confirmed there had been a loan offer for Vilhete.

The Times Series has since learned that offer was from Boreham Wood with the view to making the move permanent in January.

Vilhete, who scored for the Development Team in Tuesday’s friendly win over the Nike Academy, had been training with Ross Eames’ Development squad.

And, speaking after that win, Allen told the Times Series there had been a number of enquiries for the 22-year-old but no decision had been made.
