This Saturday Boreham Wood entertain Welling United (kick-off 3pm), on what has become one of the most eagerly awaited days in the Non-League Calender.

For the first time since its inception the Wood have been given a home fixture.

Welling come to Meadow Park in fine form having won four of their last five fixtures. Despite Wood’s stop-start season a win would see them just three points behind their visitors.

After losing their opening four games away from Park View Road, Welling have put together back-to-back wins on the road at Gateshead and Kidderminster Harriers.

The Welling squad features two former Wood Loanees. Ben Jefford, who was on loan to the Wood from, Reading and Zac Fagan from Arsenal. Whilst in the Wood squad, Anthony Jeffrey was a member of last season’s Wings side.

On the back of two away draws Boreham Wood will be looking to get back to winning ways on home soil in front of what will hopefully be a vibrant home crowd on Non-League Day.

Wood have a number of events taking place and special offers, as well as Fan Clappers for the kids to help generate a fantastic atmosphere at Meadow Park.

They are also being joined on the day by Kick It Out, who will be raising awareness of discrimination in football and raising its awareness in the Non-League game.

Those supporters who hold a season ticket with a Premier League or Football League club can gain entry to the game for the reduced price of just £10 adults, £7 OAPs and £5 for under-16s.

From 1-2pm, Wood’s community coaches will be hosting a coaching session full of fun activities and matches.

For just £2, participants will get to play some football and have some fun. Those that attend will also get a complimentary ticket for the game against Welling United that day (must be accompanied by a paying adult) for children aged between 5-12 years old.
