Shenley Village suffered a high-scoring five-wicket defeat to Flitwick in the Herts Championship on Saturday.

After losing the toss, Shenley were put into bat but the hosts finished their innings on 307 for five.

Tom Bruce was in excellent form for the side, scoring 138, and formed a superb partnership with Rob Laney, who was unbeaten on 117.

Shenley Village struggled in the field though, and Flitwick reached the target with five wickets in hand off 43.5 overs.

Lloyd Willingham returned figures of three for 63 while Laney and Nikhil Borkhatria took one wicket apiece but it was not enough to avoid defeat.

The Seconds claimed a 37-run victory over Cockfosters Seconds in Division Five B.

Shenley Village scored 128 all out in 45.5 overs. In reply, Cockfosters were dismissed for 91 in 38.4 overs.

The Thirds’ game against Flitwick Thirds was cancelled due to the wet weather, along with Shenley Village Fourths’ match against Watford Town Fourths.

Radlett’s top-of-the-table clash with Harpenden in the Herts Premier Division was called off due to the rain on Saturday.

The side are due to return to action this weekend with a match against Sawbridgeworth.

Radlett Seconds eased to an eight-wicket victory over Leverstock Green in Division Two.

Green were in disarray with the bat as they were dismissed for 74 in 24 overs. Radlett made short work of the run chase as they eased to the target for the loss of two wickets in just 14.2 overs.

League-leaders Radlett Thirds had to settle for a draw against Watford Town Seconds in Division Five A.

A total of 286 for nine for Radlett was impressive enough but they were unable to bowl out their opponents as Watford Town finished their innings on 203 for seven.

The Fourths’ game with Northchurch Seconds was cancelled due to the weather.

Radlett Fifths lost to Bushey Thirds by seven wickets in Regional Division A West.

The side were skittled out for a meagre 58 in 20.2 overs.

Bushey knocked off the runs quickly sealing the win for the loss of three wickets in 14.3 overs.

Radlett picked up a 37-run win over Hoddesdon in Group D of the Herts 20/20 competition on Sunday.

Batting first, Radlett scored 135 for seven from their innings.

Opener Fraser Crawford top-scored with 58 while Hugh McDowell and Rees Thomas both scored 14.

Hoddesdon found the challenge difficult and fell short of the target, finishing on 98 for six.

Daniel Foster took two for nine while Ben Lederman, Stanley Tinkler, Michael Lee and Alex Cook each picked up one wicket.
