Boreham Wood striker Junior Morias admits promotion to the National League has still not sunk in yet.

Morias fired the winning goal in extra time of their Conference South play-off final triumph over Whitehawk last month.

He was rewarded with a new contract this summer and is still overwhelmed by Wood’s achievement after winning promotion to the National League for the first time.

Morias told Football Exclusives: “It still hasn’t sunk in yet. I still have flashbacks and watch the video every day. Words cannot explain it and how I feel. The season’s just been phenomenal.

“Boreham Wood being in the National League is great for the club and the boys.

“Financially it’s great for the club as well because the boys will be playing on TV and it gives them a chance to impress.

“It’s great for all of us at the club and the youngsters coming up as well.”

The former Wycombe Wanderers youngster insists hard work and remaining positive helped him through the occasional hard time last season which ended with the ultimate high.

Morias said: “Obviously last season there were ups and downs which I’m sure happens in everyone’s career but the outcome is always good. You get your head down and work hard.

“You have to keep your head up whether you’re doing well or not. That’s what I’ve learnt to do and it helped me through the season.”

The club have been invited to take part in the parade at the Elstree & Borehamwood annual civic festival tomorro (Saturday).

Manager Ian Allinson and many of the promotion-winning squad members will be on board along with the silverware.

The parade will assemble at Brook Road car park at 1pm and will start at 1.45pm.

It will head out onto the High Street before moving onto Theobald Street.

The club are hoping as many fans as possible will be able to attend the festival and celebrate their promotion with the team.
