Tabard’s losing run continued after a 32-22 defeat at Hampstead in London Two North West.

It was the team’s seventh consecutive loss in the league although they did come away with a losing bonus-point after scoring four tries.

The visitors got off to a promising start and opened the scoring after 15 minutes when Tabard picked up a wayward kick and Aaron Priscott scored in the corner.

But their good work was undone as the hosts scored two tries in quick succession to take a 10-5 lead.

Tabard replied three minutes before half-time when the ball was played out to Rhys Lewis on the wing and he touched down in the corner to level the contest.

Just as it looked like the visitors would go in all square they conceded possession and another Hampstead score handed them a 15-10 advantage at the break.

It was the hosts who opened the scoring in the second half with a move straight from the training ground.

The try extended their lead to 22-10 and left Tabard with an uphill struggle to rescue the match.

But the away side gave themselves hope when they went for a scrum and it was worked out wide by Jack Reilly to Jonny Aquila and he touched down. Reilly added the conversion which brought them within five points.

A simple penalty for coming round the side allowed Hampstead to extend their lead, which was quickly followed by a well-taken try, with the successful conversion taking the score to 32-17 with only ten minutes left.

Tabard were determined to have the last say and picked up their bonus point with a fourth try late on through Harry Gough.
