Borehamwood gymnast Gabby Jupp marked her return to competition following a long injury lay-off by helping Great Britian’s women to sixth place in the World Championship team final.

The 17-year-old Sapphire gymnast, making her World Championships debut, suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage in 2013.

However, Jupp showed no ill-effects on her return as she, along with Becky Downie, Claudia Fragapane, Kelly Simm and Ruby Harrold, came sixth in Nanning, China.

Great Britain produced good routines throughout the competition and fell just short of the record fifth-place they recorded in Tokyo in 2011, after scoring 168.496 points.

Despite their best efforts, it was not enough to place in the medal positions, with the United States (179.280) claiming gold ahead of China (172.587) and Russia (171.462).
