Arsenal Ladies have still only lost once under interim manager John Bayer after a 1-1 draw against Notts County Ladies at Meadow Park on Sunday but remain winless at home in the Women’s Super League.
Casey Stoney gave the Gunners the lead from the penalty spot after nine minutes but County levelled with three minutes remaining through Fiona O’Sullivan.
The hosts got the ideal start when after just nine minutes, Danielle Carter was tugged back by County’s Amy Turner, earning the Gunners a spot-kick. Stoney stepped up to calmly beat Carly Telford in the Magpies goal.
Only a tackle from Stoney prevented Caitlin Friend getting a dangerous shot off after the break, as the visitors began brightly. O’Sullivan was next to be denied; Gunners keeper Emma Byrne getting in the way of her header.
Jordan Nobbs fired wide following good work from Freda Ayisi down the right and the miss came back to haunt the Gunners at the death.
A free-kick from goalkeeper Telford bounced all the way through to O’Sullivan, who volleyed past Byrne.
