Tabard battled to a 22-7 home victory over Hammersmith & Fulham in London League Two North West.

The hosts were ahead after only two minutes when winger Johnny Aguila plucked the ball from the air and outflanked the defence to score a try which Jack Reilly converted.

Against the run of play, the visitors pulled level after profiting from a suspiciously uneven lineout with their winger finishing a move and the full-back converting.

Tabard hooker Brian Gates claimed the final try of the half after good work from the forwards in the build-up and the score was 12-5 to the hosts going into the break.

Hammersmith & Fulham struggled to get into their opponents’ 22 for the entire second half and Reilly’s penalty goal rewarded Tabard’s dominance in the 50th minute.

Gates grabbed his second try from a forwards drive in the lineout and Reilly was successful for the second time out of three conversion attempts in the only other score of the second half.

Tabard follow up the 22-7 success with another home game against HAC this weekend.
